Course Testimonials

"This course was fabulous with the focus solely on male pelvic health taking us through the basics such as anatomy, physiology and common conditions online as an introduction, then focusing on the clinical and practical components in person. The setting was private and a small group made it easy to match the teaching to the experience of everyone in it and we had lots of time for practical sessions. Mandy and Pierre were fabulous teachers and this course is invaluable to physios looking to branch out into Men's Health!."

Susan L, 2024

"I had such a great three days with Mandy and Pierre. They were so personable and enjoyable to learn from that it was well worth the trip to Brisbane. I felt very confident going back to work and being able to apply so much theory and practical skills straight away. The added online content is a bonus as well."

Kelli P, 2024

New Skills you will Learn

This course is designed to give you the clinical skills you need to offer a comprehensive male pelvic physiotherapy service at your clinicDigital

  • Digital Rectal Examination

Performing a safe, trauma-informed DRE is an essential skill if you are managing males with pelvic pain or anorectal dysfunction

  • Transperineal Ultrasound

If you plan to work with males who have undergone prostatectomies then transperineal ultrasound is a necessary clinical skill. It is a much better way, non-invasive way to assess the pelvic floor muscles especially in post-operative patients who do not have the bladder filling for transabdominal ultrasound to be effective.

  • External and Internal Manual Therapy Techniques

This course will teach you internal and external soft tissue techniques that are particularly helpful with pelvic pain conditions.

FAQ

  • Who is this course for?

This course is aimed at Physiotherapists who are wanting to progress their career in the Male Pelvic Physiotherapy field.

  • Do I need prior training in Male Pelvic Health Physiotherapy?

You do not need specific Male Pelvic Health training. We have designed this course as a "from scratch" course and will teach you everything you need to know to get started in Male Pelvic Health.

  • Can I attend this course online?

No, this course is only for live, in person participants

  • Do I have to be a model for the digital rectal examination

It is important for you to experience the process of an anorectal examination and as such we will be practicing the examination process on each other (whether you are male or female). We will be respectful of privacy and have an extra female prac assistant available for females for the practical sessions. Whilst we try to be accommodating to everyone, participants who are not volunteering themselves cannot be guaranteed that they will be able to perform the examination on another participant and may end up attending the practical in an observational capacity only. There is an additional option of paying an extra fee to practice on a simulated male patient on one day of the course

Course Testimonial - Lesley C

"If you are interested in any aspect of Men's Pelvic Health this is the first course you need to do! Pierre and Mandy are so knowledge and their presentation style means you can go back to clinic on Monday and implement what you have learnt. Their teaching style is interactive and you get a ton of information to come away with. The internal exam component is always daunting and often a big source of anxiety - not in this course. Many and Pierre ensured everyone was comfortable and we all left the course feeling comfortable and confident in our new skills. I cannot recommend these courses enough...I've done them all!"
