"Pierre and Mandy's Male Pelvic Physiotherapy courses are exceptional resources. This emerging area of physiotherapy requires significant effort from passionate practitioners to create safe and effective care; no easy task when the body of evidence is still in its infancy! Mandy and Pierre literally live and breathe this pursuit of excellence in pelvic care. Their substantial experience and compassionate teaching approach are hallmarks of these courses. Attendees leave feeling inspired, equipped and encouraged to find their own place in the community of practitioners supporting Men. I recommend all of their courses, so much so that I re-attended as a refresher course; a great option to keep up to date and hone your skills."

James

"This course was fabulous with the focus solely on male pelvic health taking us through the basics such as anatomy, physiology and common conditions online as an introduction, then focusing on the clinical and practical components in person. The setting was private and a small group made it easy to match the teaching to the experience of everyone in it and we had lots of time for practical sessions. Mandy and Pierre were fabulous teachers and this course is invaluable to physios looking to branch out into Men's Health!"

"A comprehensive and well rounded course. A perfect blend of putting new evidence safely into practice in an emerging field. It will give you the tolls to kick start or develop your skills in men’s health physiotherapy. Pre reading is extensive, but I encourage you to take the time with it as it helps you get the most value out of the course. I strongly encourage you to come to the course well versed in the pre reading, keep an open mind, ask questions during the theory and practical sections and apply what you have learned asap once you finish the course. Keep the practical workbook and all resource available to you to come back to when you guidance. The templates, algorithms and educational material are brilliant for physios and patients alike. Knowledge is power when the knowledge is used. The practical sessions with the real time ultrasound and digital rectal examinations will set you apart from other aspiring men’s health physiotherapist in your area. I highly recommend this course if you are interested in joining the ever growing field of men’s health physiotherapy."

"This workshop exceeded my expectations. We received detailed, evidence-based information on a wide range of men’s pelvic health issues and their treatments. The instructors ( Mandy and Pierre) provided exceptional guidance throughout the male pelvic examination and treatment sessions, creating a supportive and professional learning environment. I also appreciated the honest and constructive feedback from colleagues during the DRE practice. It was truly invaluable. It’s inspiring to see how much we, as physiotherapists, can do within our scope to support men dealing with prostate cancer, pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, and more. I can’t wait to apply what I’ve learned to help my clients, collaborate with other clinicians, and continue my advocacy for men’s health. A thoroughly rewarding and empowering experience. :-)"

New Skills you will Learn

This course is designed to give you the clinical skills you need to offer a comprehensive male pelvic physiotherapy service at your clinicDigital

  • Digital Rectal Examination

Performing a safe, trauma-informed DRE is an essential skill if you are managing males with pelvic pain or anorectal dysfunction

  • Transperineal Ultrasound

If you plan to work with males who have undergone prostatectomies then transperineal ultrasound is a necessary clinical skill. It is a much better way, non-invasive way to assess the pelvic floor muscles especially in post-operative patients who do not have the bladder filling for transabdominal ultrasound to be effective.

  • External and Internal Manual Therapy Techniques

This course will teach you internal and external soft tissue techniques that are particularly helpful with pelvic pain conditions.

Whilst we try to be accommodating to everyone, participants who are not volunteering themselves cannot be guaranteed that they will be able to perform the examination on another participant and may end up attending the practical in an observational capacity only. There is an additional option of paying an extra fee to practice on a simulated male patient on one day of the course

Course Testimonial - Lesley C

"If you are interested in any aspect of Men's Pelvic Health this is the first course you need to do! Pierre and Mandy are so knowledge and their presentation style means you can go back to clinic on Monday and implement what you have learnt. Their teaching style is interactive and you get a ton of information to come away with. The internal exam component is always daunting and often a big source of anxiety - not in this course. Many and Pierre ensured everyone was comfortable and we all left the course feeling comfortable and confident in our new skills. I cannot recommend these courses enough...I've done them all!"
